I’m the SEO and link building specialist behind SEO by Subham. For more than 12 years I’ve been learning, testing and building links, first for my own websites and now for clients around the world.
01 · Who I Am
The Person Behind SEO by Subham
I’m Subham Chowdhury, an independent SEO and link building specialist based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. SEO by Subham is a one-person business: when you work with me, I plan your links, build them and send you the report myself.
I didn’t come into SEO through a degree. I came in through curiosity, a slow 2G phone and a lot of trial and error. That’s why I still test methods on my own websites before I recommend them to anyone else.
Today I work with small businesses, bloggers and agencies around the world, mainly through monthly link building packages and guest posting services.
02 · My Journey
How I Got Into SEO
From a 2G phone to more than two thousand client orders: the path that shaped how I work today.
My First Website
My first website was built on Wapka.mobi, using a basic mobile phone on a slow 2G connection. I knew nothing about SEO back then, but I was hooked on building things online.
Discovering SEO
I kept hearing the word “SEO”, so I searched for it on Google and YouTube. One YouTube video gave me the basics, and I used them to build my first blog on Blogger.
Learning the Hard Way
My blogs were approved for Google AdSense and the ads were running, but the revenue stayed at zero because nobody could find the pages. Instead of giving up, I kept studying and kept building.
Six Months at Extensive Ideas
I joined Extensive Ideas, an institute in Kolkata, for a six-month course in SEO theory and practice, keyword research, on-page optimisation, article writing, Google Ads and social media ads. I went for the skills, not the certificate.
A Year in an SEO Team
I then spent a year in an SEO team working on real client projects. It showed me how campaigns run day to day, and it confirmed that I wanted to work independently.
Going Independent
I first tried freelancing on Fiverr in 2013, before I really understood SEO, and it didn’t work out. In 2018 I came back with real skills, and I’ve worked independently ever since.

What Working With Me Looks Like
I Do the Work Myself
SEO by Subham is a one-person business. The person who plans your links is the same person who builds them and sends you the report.
Monday to Saturday
I work six days a week, Monday to Saturday, and take Sunday off. Message me on WhatsApp or email and I’ll reply as soon as I can.
Reports You Can Check
Every link I build is listed with its live URL, link type, target page and anchor text. You can see the format in my sample backlink report.
Honest Advice First
If your site has weak pages or technical problems, I’ll tell you before you spend money on links. Backlinks work best on a site that’s ready for them.
Clients Worldwide
I work with small businesses, bloggers and agencies in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and India, fully online.
I Test on My Own Sites
I started by building my own blogs, and I still test link building methods on my own websites before I offer them to clients.
